INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PEOPLE:
1/2 cabbage
2 carrots
1 onion
1 egg
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of wine vinegar
Pinch of fresh parsley
200ml olive or sunflower oil
1 clove garlic
1 spoon of sugar
2 tablespoons of mustard
Salt and pepper
HOW TO MAKE THE CABBAGE AND CARROT SALAD WITH AMERICAN SAUCE:
Time required: 30 minutes.
For this cabbage and carrot salad with sweet and sour mayonnaise, we are going to mix some ingredients and prepare a dressing.
This is how you do it:
We cut the salad ingredients into thin strips.
In a bowl or salad bowl, put the cabbage, carrots and onion, all cut into julienne strips, that is, into thin strips. We mix it well so that the ingredients are mixed and spread throughout the bowl.
Afterwards, we prepare a mayonnaise, which we will then give a bittersweet touch.
In a whisk glass, put an egg, a pinch of salt and oil.
We put the electric mixer to the bottom and begin to beat without moving it.
After about 10 seconds, we lift the mixer a little and put it down again, always, without stopping beating. Later, we are raising and lowering the mixer little by little, until the mayonnaise sets.
We finished preparing the dressing, adding some ingredients to the mayonnaise,
to make it sweet and sour.
Ready the mayonnaise, it is the turn of the ingredients that will give it that bittersweet touch.
Add the garlic clove, sugar, mustard, lemon juice, vinegar, fresh parsley and a good amount of black pepper.
We beat everything again with the electric mixer until we have a fine sauce.
